Marketing at WWSG

The heart of any business lies in marketing. The most successful companies, big or small, depend on effective marketing.

The term "marketing" covers a lot of different activities -- all associated with selling your company's products and services. This can be tricky for a lecture agency, like the Worldwide Speakers Group, where the products and services are people and their keynote speeches.

Rahna Faddoul, Manager of Marketing at WWSG, understands the importance of determining what the client needs and creating demand, the two things marketing should encompass.

How Much Does A Keynote Speaker Cost?

Posted by WWSG Staff on Apr 27, 2018 5:00:00 PM

Dollar bills

Some may think that finding the cost for a keynote speaker is as simple as a Google search. After all, Google holds the answers for almost anything. Unfortunately, many factors play into how much a client spends on a keynote speaker, which is why many speaker bureaus do not automatically list a speaker’s fee, also known as their honorarium. Instead, their website will read: “contact us for fee” in order to share the number.

When searching for the estimated cost for a keynote speaker, most search results will lead in the direction of a speaker or lecture agency. Some may see this as secrecy, but it is because fees can vary depending on many factors.

Depending on location, duration of the keynote and audience size, a speaker may adjust his or her honorarium. Due to this, many speakers and clients use lecture agencies as their resource to negotiate and contact more notoriously private speakers. Lecture agencies specialize in finding and contacting highly sought-after keynote speakers.

Despite the variation in costs from speaker to speaker, there are some trends that help estimating the price for certain keynote speakers.

Dr. Sanjay Gupta: The Epidemic of Gun Violence is Treatable

Dr. Sanjay Gupta on gun violence

As a doctor who works at an international news network, I often see the worst stories of all. In Iraq and Afghanistan, the horrific realities of the battlefield are funneled and concentrated in the medical tents where I have reported for more than a decade. I have seen patients infected with Ebola in West Africa who dehydrate to death, with no treatment in sight. There are other stories I still can't talk about.

Any doctor, any person really, will tell you it is the preventable deaths that haunt you the most; lives lost needlessly, when they could've been saved. If we can't get this part right, all of our other efforts toward treating the sickest patients lose meaning.

Depending on your perspective, homicides with a gun, which we witness far too often in this country, may not be the thing you consider when thinking of preventable deaths. If, however, you think of violence as an infectious disease, your perspective may change.

A Chinese Puzzle: Why Economic “Reform” in Xi’s China Has More Meanings than Market Liberalization

Imagine, for a moment, that you’re writing a short history of reform euphoria in China. Your essay would be, well, pretty short.

From my vantage point, at least, in the last decade there have been just two notable moments of exuberance about the prospects for economic reform in China. One was in 2011, when China issued its 12th Five Year Plan (2011-2015). This document marked a noteworthy shift in the underlying thinking about China’s growth model and distribution priorities. And it came at an important juncture in China’s post-1978 economic history: Four years earlier, in 2007, then Premier Wen Jiabao had called China’s economy “unstable, unbalanced, uncoordinated, and unsustainable”—a searing indictment of the prevailing growth model that seemed to lay the political groundwork for a much-delayed shift in strategy.

By 2011, that shift seemed finally to have come—at least on paper.

Every year, the month of March is a time we celebrate and honor all of women’s history. In 1987, Congress declares March as National Women’s History Month in perpetuity. The Middle East

It cannot be repeated often enough that the Kurds were, in Syria as in Iraq, our dike, our rampart, the wall of valor and energy shielding us from the Islamic State.

In Syria, no less than in Iraq, they have been the bolt that barred the border doors that the Iraqi and Turkish armies left swinging open. The revolving doors through which passed the same Islamists who, after tormenting the Near East came to carry out attacks in Europe.

Their victory won, the Kurdish fighters were naive enough to think that they would be allowed to live in peace on the land that they had defended and on which their brothers and sisters died and were buried.
